Place your incense stick in a stable base. Light the tip, allow it to burn briefly, then gently blow out the flame. The tip should glow and release a gentle trail of smoke.

Enjoy in a well-ventilated space, away from draughts and flammable materials. Each stick burns for approximately 30 minutes.

Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep away from children and pets. To extinguish early, dip the glowing tip in water and check it is fully out. Allow the holder and ash to cool before handling.

ABOUT OUR INCENSE

Gunggara, also known as conkerberry, is a native shrub found across northern Australia, including the Kimberley. Its thorny branches carry fragrant white flowers and small, sweet berries that turn dark as they ripen. Beneath the bark lies a distinctive orange grain and a sweet, earthy aroma when burned.

In Yawuru culture, Gunggara holds a connection to new life, used in smoking ceremonies to welcome newborn babies. For our family, its scent carries memories of home, a connection to Country and knowledge passed through generations.

Frequently asked questions

How long will the incense last me?

It depends on how often you intend to burn! Each stick burns for roughly 30-minutes and each box contains 30 incense sticks. So if you're like us and burn everyday, one box should last you a month. But if you only choose to burn for special occasions, you can make it last a lot longer.

Do you ship overseas?

No, unfortunately not currently. As we expand, we may look to introducing an international service.

What is the difference between handmade and hand-dipped?

Hand-dipped incense starts with a pre-made stick that is soaked in fragrance oils. Our incense is handmade from the raw materials themselves — blended, formed and dried by hand in Broome. The scent comes from what we burn, not what we add to it.

What should I use my incense for?

Burn it to set the mood, slow down, reset your space, or simply enjoy the scent. There’s no right ritual — light it whenever you want to bring a little warmth and connection to Country into your space.
